Superannuation: Rebooting the system that is failing many Australians

Bill Kelty AC is widely regarded as one of the ‘fathers’ of Australia’s superannuation system and senior statesman. As ACTU Secretary from 1983 to 2000, he was one of the authors of The Accord between the unions and the then Labor Government that made the introduction of Paul Keating’s Superannuation Guarantee possible. He served as a director of the Reserve Bank from 1987 to 1996.

Dr John Hewson AM is one of Australia’s most experienced economists, financial experts and company directors. He is also a former leader of the Federal Liberal Party and was Leader of the Opposition from 1990 to 1994. Since leaving politics in 1995 he has forged a successful career in investment banking and sustainable development.

Emeritus Professor Dianne Yerbury AO is the inaugural chair of the Crescent Think Tank and Crescent Wealth. She became Australia’s first female Vice Chancellor when she took up the role at Macquarie University in 1987, and has served on a wide range of boards and chaired or been a member of more than 20 government reviews in Australia and overseas.


Hugh Riminton is one of Australia’s most well known commentators and is a multi-award winning journalist. He has been a foreign correspondent and presenter for CNN and Channel 9, and a political editor and newsreader for Channel TEN, where he still works. He is the author of ‘Minefields: A Life In The News Game’ published in 2017.
